The Conestoga Historical Society's mission is to preserve the history of the Penn Manor Area, including Conestoga, Manor, Martic, and Pequea Townships. A tobacco shed serves as the main museum building. Upstairs features, among other local historic items, a Conestoga wagon on display. Downstairs gallery features revolving local exhibits. Other buildings on site include a Blacksmith Shop, Atkinson Log House, Cellar Museum Gift Shoppe, Harnish Stone House and various master craftsman shops. Yearly events.
Admission is free; donations are appreciated.
2008 Gallery Exhibit:
"Life in the Manor"
This exhibit is a visual survey of the history of Manor Township from its early 18th century beginning to the present. Photographs and artifacts are displayed Saturdays and Sundays from 1 to 4PM April 19 through December 14, 2008.
