Freiman Stoltzfus is a native of Lancaster, Pennsylvania. He was born into an Amish-Mennonite family, the youngest of six children.
Freiman has a great love of travel and adventure. While living in Italy and France, he studied language, music, and art, and spent much time in the great museums and churches which have influenced his work. He studied at National Academy and Art Students League, both in New York City. His work is in corporate and private collections in the USA, Europe, and Asia. He has shown his work in galleries, museums, and exhibits in France, Switzerland, Pennsylvania, New York, and Delaware.
Freiman is continually inspired by his Pennsylvania heritage, finding beauty in the colors and patterns of Amish quilts, Pennsylvania German clocks, fraktur, and in the four seasons as they move across city and town. He has done extensive landscape paintings using vintage maps, which have grown in popularity as a re-envisioning of space and history.
Freiman Stoltzfus Gallery contains originals, printed works, stationery, signed books, and Christmas ornaments in season. Freiman welcomes you to visit Lancaster's Gallery Row, where you will find artwork to enjoy for generations.
