Fulton Theatre

The Fulton is Lancaster County's professional regional theatre and a National Historic Landmark. For over 150 years, audiences from central Pennsylvania and beyond have been entertained, educated and inspired at America's oldest, continuously operating theatre. The Fulton produces Broadway caliber musicals, comedies, and dramas right in the heart of Pennsylvania Dutch Country! This marvel of Victorian architecture combines ornate mid-Nineteenth Century grandeur with modern amenities.

• Mary Poppins
  November 19–December 29, 2013
  “It’s a jolly holiday with Mary!” This holiday season we invite you and your family to jump through a magical painting into the fantastical world of Mary Poppins. The Fulton is one of the few theatres in the country that has earned the rights to produce this international hit. The show is pure confectionary fun, with songs you know and love, like “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious,” “A Spoon Full of Sugar,” “Chim Chim Cher-ee,” “Feed the Birds” and countless other merry melodies. All the fun of the film is brought to life on stage in a lavish production, chock full of dancing chimney sweeps, an eclectic array of colorful characters, spectacular singing, eye-popping sets and costumes, and of course, a flying nanny like none you’ve ever met. Mary Poppins will soar high above our audiences and the show will soar right into your heart.
   
• Arsenic and Old Lace
  January 28–February 16, 2014
  Meet the Brewster sisters. On the surface they are innocent, charming, kind and loving spinster aunts. But there’s more than meets the eye in the Brewsters’ boarding house. From the adventures of their brother who thinks he’s Teddy Roosevelt, to the romantic antics of their beloved nephew Mortimer, to the shocking secrets buried in the basement, nothing is quite as it seems. This play has become a true comedy classic that has delighted and entertained audiences for decades. Be careful not to drink the Brewster sisters’ wine, but don’t miss their invitation to tea!
   
• Young Frankenstein
  March 11–30, 2014
  This show is simply a laugh riot. Faithfully adapted from the beloved Mel Brooks film, Young Frankensteinbrings all the familiar, zany characters to life on stage, including a very large, very green monster. You’ll laugh along to the classic duet of Dr. Frankenstein and his monster “Puttin’ on the Ritz,” complete with a tap dancing chorus. Come and see how a simple hayride becomes a complete musical adventure where an entire village goes crazy…with dance! Young Frankenstein is an electrifyingly exciting, irreverently rollicking, satirically silly good time. And sometimes, that’s just what the Doctor ordered.
   
• Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story
  April 22–May 11, 2014
  The Music lives again on stage. The incredible legacy of the “young man with glasses” whose musical career spanned an all too brief period during the Golden Age of Rock and Roll, rocks on in this ever popular tribute. Follow Buddy’s meteoric rise to fame, from his humble country music roots to the top of the record charts. You’ll be cheering for more, with such rousing 1950s favorites as “Peggy Sue,” “Oh Boy,” “Maybe Baby,” “That’ll Be the Day,” “Raining in My Heart,” Ritchie Valens’ “La Bamba” and the Big Bopper’s “Chantilly Lace”. The incredibly talented cast members are also the musicians performing on stage, and we bet they will have you dancing in the aisles!
   
• Les Misérables
  June 3–July 6, 2014
  In 2009 the Fulton staged Les Misérables. The production was an unqualified hit with audiences, and for good reason. This blockbuster hit musical combines an epic story—with its universal and uplifting themes of hope and salvation—with gorgeously soaring melodies and unforgettable lyrics. We extended the run twice and shattered all box office records. It has taken us five years to get the rights to produce the show again, and we are so thrilled to bring our version back to Lancaster. With a clear focus on storytelling and spectacular singing, this extravagant production will triumphantly close out the 2013/2014 season.
