Big Chiques Creek

Located at Lat. 40.11559 / Long. -76.4254

Originally built by Charles Melhorn in 1847 for $650.  Rebuilt by Levi Fink in 1855 for $837 after extensive flood damage.  It is the 3rd oldest bridge in the county still open to traffic.  Shenck is spelled alternately  Shenk and Schenck.  Location:  1/4 mile north of Highway 283 and Spook Road and 1/2 mile west on Shenck Road in East Hempfield Township.
