Bird-in-Hand Farmers Market

Lancaster Central Market

Continuously operated since 1730, this downtown Lancaster landmark is the nation’s oldest publicly owned farmers’ market. The family-run stands featuring farm-fresh meats and produce have been here for generations, and today, they’re joined by an international whirlwind of tastes that give Central Market a character like no other. Just as impressive is the unique Romanesque revival architecture of the 1880s Market House—a favorite among locals and visitors alike.

Green Dragon Farmers Market & Auction

“If you can’t buy it at the Green Dragon, it chust ain’t fer sale!” That’s what locals say about this enormous market and auction, which opens every Friday for thousands of visitors to find tasty treats, crafts, and even designer-inspired bargains. More than 400 growers, merchants, and craftsmen present their wares each week—shop indoors or out for just about anything you can imagine!

This is a family-owned and operated orchard located at the heart of lush Lancaster County. Their orchards produce over 135 varieties of tree fruits on 120 acres. The annual harvest is sold at the market. They also have a full like of groceries, bulk foods, and a deli department. You won't want to leave without a sample of their famous apple dumplings!
