(Lancaster, Pa.) As the U.S. presidential race prepares to gear up for the fall campaign, the public is invited to join the Pennsylvania Dutch Convention & Visitors Bureau on August 15th and 16th as it partners with the PA Office of Tourism in hosting a free Quest for Freedom "Live & Learn Weekend" on The American Presidency, the fourth in a series of such events, exploring our history from the Civil War through Civil Rights.
"We're excited and honored to co-host another Live & Learn Weekend," stated Chris Barrett, president and CEO of the PA Dutch CVB. "The story of American freedom touches all of us, and this event is one more prime example of how our local heritage is a natural and educational way to enhance the Lancaster County experience for visitors and area residents alike."

President James Buchanan's Wheatland hosts an evening reception, complete with Pennsylvania Past Players and reflections on the election process for the American Presidency. Dressed in period costume, the Players are trained "living history" interpreters of the state's Civil War and Underground Railroad history.

Live a little and learn a lot as the Unfinished Work Book Discussion Series provides a spirited and open group dialogue on "Lincoln on Democracy," edited by Mario Cuomo and Harold Holzer. Dr. Louise Stevenson, professor of history and American studies at Franklin and Marshall College, will discuss the historical context of this weekend's featured book.
