(Lancaster, Pa.) The Pennsylvania Dutch Convention & Visitors Bureau (PA Dutch CVB) has hired three new employees in its continuing mission of promoting the Lancaster County travel and tourism industry.
Christopher Ackerman has joined the Bureau in the newly-created position of Convention Sales Manager. Previously, Ackerman was with the Lancaster County Convention Center and Marriott Lancaster at Penn Square, where he was the Senior Sales Manager for both properties. Prior to that, he held a number of sales and marketing jobs in Pennsylvania. In his new position, he is responsible for soliciting and developing new qualified sales leads, and promoting Lancaster County to the sports market, affinity groups, and associations. Ackerman attended Penn State University.
Brian Evans has joined the Bureau as the e-Marketing & PR Manager. Evans was previously the Director of Communications at the University of Connecticut Alumni Association in Storrs, Conn. Prior to that, he held a number of web development positions in southeastern Pennsylvania. In his new position, he assists with all segments of the PA Dutch CVB’s Web-based marketing and communications programs, including maintaining all areas of the website, developing e-newsletters for various consumer audiences, and developing online advertising. Evans earned a bachelor’s degree in mass communications at Bloomsburg University.
Sarah Long has joined the PA Dutch CVB in the newly-created position of Communications Coordinator. In this position, she supports all segments of the Bureau’s communications programs, including working to promote the Lancaster area online through social media efforts, maintaining the online events calendar, assisting with writing and editing copy for the web, designing marketing and event materials, and conducting research. Long holds a bachelor’s degree in communications and public relations from Millersville University.
