(Lancaster, Pa.)  The Pennsylvania Dutch Convention & Visitors Bureau (PA Dutch CVB) is pleased and proud to announce that two members of its staff – Monica Thomas and Lena Goodley – have recently earned the prestigious Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) designation from the Convention Industry Council.

“The PA Dutch CVB, its members, and the entire Lancaster County destination are lucky to have two professionals like Monica and Lena working on our behalf every day,” said Chris Barrett, the bureau’s president and CEO. “Their new CMP accreditation will provide them, and us, with additional credibility as they strive to bring a growing share of the meetings and conventions market to the Lancaster area.  We’re grateful for their efforts, and excited at the prospects.”

Thomas, of Lancaster, is Director of Meeting & Convention Sales at the bureau, and Goodley, of Hellam, is Meeting & Convention Sales Manager.

The CMP credential is recognized throughout the global meetings, conventions, and exhibitions industry, and demonstrates the recipient’s expertise in meeting management.  Obtaining the designation is a two-part process consisting of a detailed application – to determine eligibility – and then an independently-administered, comprehensive written examination.
